In recent years, the recognition of neurodiversity has increased, including the understanding of co-occurring neurodivergent conditions. Employers are beginning to realise the immense benefits of a diverse workforce and the unique perspectives that neurodivergent individuals bring to the table.

​However, the journey towards fully embracing these strengths is ongoing. A study by Neurodiversity in Business and Birkbeck’s Research Centre for Neurodiversity at Work (2023) found that 65% of neurodivergent employees do not disclose their conditions to employers out of fear of discrimination.

Traditional interview techniques, which place a high value on body language and eye contact, along with rigid expectations in areas like organisation and time management, create substantial barriers for many neurodivergent individuals seeking employment. Given the high number of neurodivergent adults in the workforce, it makes sense for businesses to accommodate both current employees and job seekers.

 

This is Dyslexia could see there was a need to develop a range of services that supported adults with all forms of neurodivergence.  This is when This is Neurodiversity was formed.
